The contract membership is just the beginning. Next year I’m planning to take the Maryland bar (I’m already licensed in CA) and officially open a law firm dedicated to advocating on behalf of freelancers. I’m also learning the legal ins and outs of worker-owned cooperatives and unions so I can help freelancers organize their labor and take collective actions to secure their rights.

TL;DR: I’m a have-to-preneur. I have a chronic illness and it takes a toll. It’s especially difficult to manage during the summer. My best tool to manage it is acupuncture, but my insurance doesn’t cover it.
